Bwindi National Park-Gorillas

Africa-Uganda-Bwindi National Park Certainly the highlight of any trip to Uganda is to see the Gorillas. It took about 2/3 hours to find them. There were rangers and spotters who  know were they usually are. So amazing and one of the wonders of the world to see them in the wild. A wonderful World Heritage Site.

There was a no post office near the park. So this card was posted on the way to Rwanda  at a Border town Post office.

Kampala Uganda

Africa-Uganda-Kampala The capital of Uganda. Uganda was a very enjoyable country to visit. Very friendly and quite cheap. Stayed just outside Kampala overlooking Lake Victoria

The Main Post office was very large and had a small philatelic section. However the official in charge had the keys and was off that day I visited. So only had a limited selection.

Africa-Uganda-Kampala  Many African cities are not very attractive. Kampala it pretty colourful and a busy city. I found it very safe to walk around .

Loved this triangular stamp that had just been recently issued. Clear postmark with Kampala sorting office.

Uganda

Uganda is my first stop on this East African trip.  The Main Post office is quite large with numbers of different counters. The philatelic section has a large selection of stamps. However " the lady with the key will be here tomorrow ".  This is not the first time I have had this at stamp counters.  It is a pity as Uganda has some great stamps with local themes. However I was able to select from a small range of stamps.

Kampala has not much to offer but went on to Bwindi National Park. The key attraction here is the Gorillas which did not disappoint.
