Male - Maldives

Indian Ocean-Maldives-Male  This is a great postcard of the view of Male from the air. It really is like a mini Manhattan. Very crowed as you can see. Going here gives you a better sense of the Maldives rather then just staying on a Island. 

This card like all the rest was posted at the Post office at Male airport. These stamps again are from the 50th Anniversary of Independence in 2015.

Indian Ocean-Maldives-South Ari Atoll  The diving here is amazing . On this occasion  I sent snorkeling and the sea was a clear as this postcard .

South Ari Atoll - Maldives

Indian Ocean-Maldives-South Ari Atoll  This is the resort I stayed on. I have to say it even exceeded my expectation. Got a sea plane down from Male. 

There is no Post office on the island , as the island is just the resort which is most like the rest of the Maldives. You can post at a reception desk, but I never do that. So this card was posted at the Airport Island beside Male. This stamp is from a Miniature Sheet .

Just back from my trip now , so can update . Starting off in the Maldives. Stayed on South Ari Atoll, but also spend a full day in Male the small capital which looks like Manhattan from the sky.

This is the Post office at the airport . It is open 24 hours !! I think this is the first Post office I have seen that. However when I arrived it was closed for one hour. So I guess the staff have to eat .. lol..  There are presentation folders with stamps on one side which includes some sets.  Other then that, on sale via a book is individual stamps and miniature sheets.  You wont find sets. Also no order. The staff do not know issue dates. But otherwise an attractive office with a good selection of postcards for sale

The Main Post office in Male itself . Despite notices no real Philatelic section . Post office is a little chaotic . I did not buy any stamps there.
