Gallery of Royal Saint Hubert - Brussels

 Europe-Belgium-Brussels This is the Gallery of Royal St.Hubert. One of the earliest shopping centres in the world when opened. This card is very attractive and is hand drawn . Most famous for the chocolate shops. There was many more people there on the day I was here. Of course I went home with a box of chocolates.

The European Parliament - Brussels

 Europe-Belgium-Brussels This is The European Parliament building . In spite of the fact that as an Irish citizen I vote for parliamentarians this is my first time to visit inside or out. There is a visitor centre nearby which is sort of interesting  .

Royal Museum for Central Africa - Brussels

 Europe-Belguim-Brussels This card is from the Royal Central African museum in Brussels. It was really the main reason for my visit here. I had been a number of years back. It was reopened in December 2018 after renovation. It is really interesting with very well written up information on this area. A large number of items will in time , go back to the new museum in Kinshasa DRC when that is opened. I normally buy a card showing the building. But this card just caught my eye. 1958 a receptionist in Leopoldville now Kinshasa . 

Loved this stamps. It is so well designed and clear . Part of a miniature sheet. 

Brussels- Belgium

 Europe-Belgium-Brussels Great to be back in Brussels. To me it was a business city and never go to see to many tourist sights here. This time I did . Lots to see and a great weekend. break. This is the Mont des Arts Gardens. On this occasion I past it late in the evening and did not see all these beautiful flowers. 

My first time go visit the new philatelic shop in Brussels. It is only open 3 days per week. A very impressive shop with a friendly and knowledgeable  staff member. Many years stamps on sale and here is the hand stamp that was processed there and then went through the mail. 

Belgium World Heritage Sites

Europe-Belgium-Brussels  This postcard is showing a part of the Staircase in the house of Victor Horta in Brussels. This is in a Art Nouveau style. Really liked my visit here , pity I could not get a better postcard. A World Heritage Site. 

I have looked at this stamp many times and I just cant see the value on it. Am I missing something? 

Europe-Belgium-Bruges   I had to visit here after seeing the Irish film " In Bruges" . It was well worth the track . A charming old city with much to see. I did climb the tower you see at the bottom centre in the postcard for great views. Also a World Heritage Site. 

On this stamp you can sure see the value. In Belgium, I find it difficult to get a good selection of stamps at any post office. 

Europe-Belgium-Bruges  This is a special convent I visited. Very quite and serene. The last of my World Heritage stops on this Belgium trip. 

This is another stamp from the music set which I cant locate the value. ?? 

Europe

Europe-Belgium-Brussels  Grand Place the famous central square of Brussels. It is also a worthy World Heritage site. Magnificent. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful square in Europe. Brussels, if you are not careful, can be expensive. It is the headquarters of the European Union. A real foodie place not to mention the chocolate! A World Heritage Site. 

This stamp has a double postmark. The first is the postmark in Brussels, you can see the circular postmark. The second is an Irish mail postmark. Not sure why that happens. Trying to find a post office in Brussels that sells stamps other than a definitive was not easy. They always seem to be closed or a holiday when I am in Brussels. 

Europe-Luxembourg-Luxembourg  Well had a good day in this city. Good to walk around and discovered that Luxembourg has its own language, Luxembourgish. You see you learn something new every day. I had a very good lunch there too. Lots of Michelin star restaurants around. A World Heritage Site. 

What a crystal clear postmark Luxembourg has. The postcard was sent from the Central Post Office in Luxembourg .

Europe-Denmark-Silkeborg  City in the centre of Denmark. 

Here you will see a special stamp from Denmark. Most of my Denmark stamps are just definitive. 

Europe-Denmark-Esbjerg  On the West coast of Denmark. Just passed through as was working near by.
