Ireland

Europe-Ireland-Kilkenny City  Kilkenny , the smallest city in Republic of Ireland. Very tourist oriented and has a lot of charm. Famous for its castle.

Most mail in Ireland goes to central distribution centres around Ireland and gets that postmark. Here in the Portlaoise mark which is used for a lot of mail posted in central and midland counties.

Europe-Ireland-Westport-Mayo  The colourful town of Westport

Stamp shows a  winning children's painting.

Europe-Ireland-Galway City  Galway the gateway to Connemara.  A very lively city and one of my favourites in Ireland.

The postcard was posted in Galway but the stamp shows Ross Castle in Co. Kerry.

Europe-Ireland-Cork City  Cork is the third largest city in Ireland if you include Belfast. In the top centre you see the famous English food market. On the banks of the river Lee.

Here we have a young James Joyce, famous for writing Ulysses.
