North America and World Stamp Exhibition Washington DC

North America-United States of America-Washington DC  One of the most recognisable buildings in the world. The White House. Never did get to visit inside. I had a  chance in the 80s but said I would do it another time. So much to see in this city . Love the Smithsonian museum .

My first and only first day postmark in full colour. I was here in DC to visit the World Stamp Exhibition and this was the postmark for this issue. Wonders of  America. The first time I had ever seen a full colour postmark.

North America-United States of America-Washington DC This is The Jefferson Memorial.

This miniature sheet released on May 29 for the Exhibition. Beautiful stamps.

North America-United Nations New York-Washington DC  I love the illustrations on this postcard. from the book " This is the United Nations" . Like the first time you visit here when young and see all the stamps. How exciting it all was and still is.

This is the First Day of issue for these United Nations stamps. Postmarked in DC at the World Stamp Exhibition.

North America-United States of America-Virginia -Mount Vernon    Not very far from DC. Mount Vernon the home of George Washington . Well worth a visit.

Posted at Mount Vernon. There was a postbox near by.
